About Us

The Internship in Biomedical Research, Informatics, and Computer science (iBRIC) program is hosted by the University of Pittsburgh Biomedical Informatics Training Program(BMI). The mission of iBRIC is to build a foundation for a career in biomedical data science through an immersive, challenging, fun, authentic, and mentored research and training experience in the emerging fields of big data, computer science, and biology and biomedical informatics. In addition to an independent research project under the guidance of a University of Pittsburgh faculty member, postdoctoral fellow, and/or graduate student, interns will engage in a variety of academic and  professional development activities including seminars, journal clubs, and research discussions with their peers. The BMI and iBRIC encourage highly-motivated students from all academic, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds with sincere interested in research to apply.
